Hi, is there any way to determine the service level status of a series 2 box from the Tivo Service Number? Or is the only choice to call Tivo and ask them to look it up. If you buy used units, it would be helpful to be able to tell prospective buyers what the service status is without having to call all the time. Thanks, IrvR.

You can call, or you can dial-in the unit.
For the record, we don't purchase used Series2 units.Been here a long time . . . -

Thanks for the reply. I understand that the service status can be gotten off the unit itself, question really related to units that are not working. We don't typically buy used series 2 boxes either, but from time to time we do come across them and if they happen to have lifetime subs on them, they can be worth some effort. IrvR.Comment

You'd have to contact TiVo to see if they have lifetime service, if you can't dial them in.Comment
