  • Add GXCEBOT drive to HDVR2

I just got an HDVR2 Directv/tivo box to replace a GXCEBOT that finally gave up the ghost. The hard drive in the GXCEBOT is still good and there are some programs on it that I would like to save. Can I add it to the HDVR2 as a slave without losing the programs? What would I need besides torx drivers and a cable?

If adding the old drive is not an option, could I mount it to a Mac (OS X 10.4) to get the video?

    Thanks,

    G

Unfortunately, you can't do it. You can't use the drive in the other unit, and you can't access the content in any TIVO other than the one that recorded it.
