For a while now, we've occasionally had problems with the picture freezing (both in live TV and watching recorded shows) or sometimes it just randomly rebooting itself while we're watching something. Another more recent issue is on certain channels ( a lot of them) there is frequent pixellation and you can't see the picture. It's all choppy. All local channels appear to be fine and there seems to be no relation to the ones that are messed up. One will be bad, the next several fine. Or 2 or 3 in a row bad, then several OK. Just in our favorites, I counted up to 24 bad channels once. Very annoying.

We have a DIRECTV receiver with Tivo (Philips DSR 708). This was our main receiver, and we just recently upgraded our bedroom receiver to a DVR. Once I got all the shows cleared off on the Philips, I thought we'd just swap the two receivers since we don't use the bedroom one much. However, there are a lot of things I do not like about the new DVR. Tivo is much better. So I really want to get the problems fixed and swap them back. FYI: Once we did the swap, did not notice the pixellation issues on either TV. So don't know what to say about that.

Sorry for the long message. Just wanted to fully describe our issues. I read the troubleshooting chart, but was a bit confused because the 1st issue seemed to be a defective HD, but the pixellation issue seemed to imply satellite tuner issues? Or would the HD replacement fix both issues?
