black screen some channels

My Series 2 has suddenly developed a strange problem. Some channels are black but not all. They are displaying normally thru cable box directly to the TV.

Also one channel, QVC is displaying a pixellated picture from the CW channel but sound from QVC.

It has exhibitted some slowness recently getting to the menu etc. Some minimal pixellating is occuring and it is exactly the same when replayed.

Can a bad hard drive cause this or is it more likely a tuner issue?

That pretty much has to be a cable box issue - if you plug the cable box into the TV and TiVo at the same time, you get different video through each?

Been here a long time . . .
