I assume you are referring to this:
All instructions assume the location of your c: drive (when used) to be in the primary master, or hda, location.
Location on IDE chain Actual command to be typed in lieu of hdX, hdY, hdZ, and hdZZ
Primary Master hda
Primary Slave hdb
Secondary Master hdc
Secondary Slave hdd
Substitute in Linux commands Drive Description
hdX Original TiVo drive
hdY Second Original TiVo drive (two-drive units only)
hdZ Target (New) TiVo drive
hdZZ Second Target (New) TiVo drive (two-drive upgrades only)
hdW FAT PC drive (almost always 'hda')
I didn't get HDA, HDB, HDC, HDD, Etc...
So for this command:
mount /dev/hdW1 /mnt
I put in mount /dev/hde1 /mnt
I also tried mount /dev/hde /mnt
Neither worked =(Last edited by dchavoc; 10-08-2008, 01:17 PM.

Then, use the add a drive process?
Is there something to be concerned about as far as serial numbers, Etc between the two units.
Mine was made 19 May 03
theirs was made 26- Apr-04

Both Series 2 but...the first 3 digits of the SN were not even close.
Do you know if Directv will de-authorise my old subscription and move it to this one?

ok....finally got a NEW CARD FOR THE PHILIPS DVR (dad's old one) and move his programming to a 160 gig drive, and also added a second 160 gig drive...shows 280 hrs recording time now...and it records and does the 30 second skip and all is good except for the old 160 drive from the huges box...if that can be recovered...only time and searching the net will tell I guess....
So a bitter sweet ending...
Thanks all for your help!
