item stuck on "to do" list without recording

    item stuck on "to do" list without recording

    I have an RCA DVR80 DirecTivo running 6.4a. Thursday night I set up a recording (regular, not manual). It never occurred (there was no reboot, and as far as I know no loss of signal), but more than a day later this item is still sitting on my "To Do List". There is no mention of it in "View Recording History". If I select it from the "To Do List", there's a "This episode will be recorded" notation. The only options that show up are "Get a Season Pass" and "OK, don't change anything".

    This happened once before on a different release of the software. That time the stuck item went away when I rebooted. I have not rebooted this time.

    Has anyone seen anything like this?

    Has the date/time for recording passed? If so, you should pull the plug and restart...see if that changes things.

      Yes, the date and time have passed.

      This afternoon there was another failure to record. But in this case there was no stuck item, and the History said "This program was not recorded because the tuner was unavailable. If you continue to encounter this problem, try restarting the Recorder." So I have done so.

      This did clear the stuck item, just like the last time this happened to me.

      I'm curious as to how the recorder got into this state, and whether anyone has seen something like this before.

        It is possible that you have a bad sat tuner; you should see whether you get any reception problems when watching live TV on one or the other tuner.
