  • Help to expand drive to capacity

    I have a DirecTv Tivo DVR40
A couple of years ago I upgraded the hd using a 100gb drive
I purchased a 6.2 iso from someone on ebay as I wanted to network
this unit with my DirecTv DVR2 unit
Now I replaced the 100gb drive with a 250gb drive
Since I wanted to keep the recorded shows I used a Disk Jockey to
image the 100gb drive to the new 250gb drive
I installed the 250 drive and booted the unit up, everything works,
shows still there but it reports 87 hour capacity
So I need to expand the volume to it's full capacity
I guess I need to "Bless" the drive, but not sure exactly how to do
    this
Also about a year ago DirecTv pushed down a DST fix which disabled
my ability to transfer shows from one unit to the other, the HMO is
still working to the extent that I can telnet into this unit, I just
    can transfer shows bewteen units
To install the HMO I was instructed to run an app called something
like 6.2hmo Can I safely run that again or can I edit and exsisting file
to restore the transfer if so what is the filename and path as well as
the line to be edited and the change required
    Thanks
    Bruce

Actually, if you already have expanded capacity, you can't re-expand the A drive to get that extra space without losing the recordings.

We really don't work with, or recommend, those other types of hacks. Sorry we can't be of help there.

      first upgrade wasn't an"expand"

the first upgrade I did (80 to 100gb) was a raw install and I assume the volume was created at it's max at that time, I lost all recordings with that upgrade
So this would be the first time I would be expanding the volume, at least from the current install
So how does "Blesstivo" work to expand a volume and where do I get the blesstivo, I assume I'll have to boot from a cd so I'll also need a bootable iso along with the blesstivo right, ideally the blesstivo should be on that bootable cd right ?

But you already have one expansion on that drive, so you can't do another. You could add a second drive and keep recordings, however.

BlessTiVo is for adding a second drive only, and not in this situation at all.

I have TIVO model No. TCD240080 which permits recording, either existing or scheduled, only on lower channels...in this area up to channel 35...this excludes many channels that I would like to record. Is this model expandable to cover any subscribed channels?
          Thank you.

This is either a setup problem or you need a cable box. If your regular TV can get stations higher than 35 without a cable box, then you need to repeat guided setup and go through the steps carefully.
