Directv Tivo Problems.....

I have a Directv Tivo unit, model number RCA DVR80. My unit loses the video but not the audio. The screen goes black but only for a few seconds at most. Once or twice it's frozen up and I had to pull the plug and reboot. The reboot went fine everytime. My question is this....what's causing the black screen?? Hard drive? Power supply?

Most likely, that's the hard drive. It probably just can't deliver video to the motherboard for processing. You should try a "replace" kit for your unit:
