DirecTV Philips DVR 7000 black and white
I have a Philips DVR 7000 Tivo for DirecTV. This morning I noticed that everything is black and white, including the Tivo menus. I checked and the TV is fine, get color on over the air channels. I am using coax cable (older TV no other connection types) on this unit and replaced the cable from the Tivo to the TV with no change. All the other Tivo units I hace a working correctly. I did restart the unit and got color of a little bit, but it returned to black and white. Tried to pause and rewind with still no change.

Are you sure you aren't outputting from the DSR7000 using S-Video? That is a classic symptom of a bad S-video cable. -
No. I am using coax to the TV. The TV does not have a S Video port.Comment

Have you tried restarting the TiVo (pulling the plug)?Comment

I did not pull the power, but I did restart the unit. It can back in color for a few minutes and then went back to black and white.Comment

You might consider changing cables or, if you can, use a different output method (red/white/yellow composite cables). If that fails, you may have a bad motherboard.Comment
