  • Major problem with DirecTV Hughes SD-DVR40

Hi all, Im new to this forum and am in desperate need of help/advice!

For the past few weeks, I have been gradually losing signal strength from my sat input 1. Well, yesterday the picture kept freeze framing and skipping so much that I couldnt watch anything. So I turned everything off and checked my connections. Well, the Sat input one cable was REALLY loose, so I started to tighten it up. Well, to make a long story short, the dang input turned WITH the coax, and broke right off the motherboard (I took the cover off the reciever and checked, its completely broken off, It's sitting here next to me)

So, is this something that can be replaced? Is it as "simple" as soldering a new sat input connection back onto the board, or am I gonna need a whole new unit? I dont want to use the Directv brand dvr any longer than I have to as I HATE it. Theres a place I can take it to to be looked at, but not till next week, so I'm just kinda wondering what to expect.

Sorry for the long post but any help here is greatly appreciated!
