Hi,
I am not sure I am posted in the right forum and i apologize if this is not the case.
I have an ''old''(6 years) but friendly :-) PHILIPS DSR 6000R-01. It was working well so far, minus some weird slight noises.
1. I get Gray "Welcome. Powering Up" screen, with green light on. Then the screen fizzles and it goes to screen '' Almost There... A few more seconds please '' and it stays there for a lot of few seconds :-) then the screen flashes quickly yellow/black and goes back to # 1 '' Welcome. Powering up''.
I have tried unplugging, 1 minute wait then plugging back but no luck.
After browsing WK website and forum, it seems like it could be the IDE cable to the motherboard or a dead HD.
How can I be sure? it would be stupid to buy a 140 $ HD if it s only a IDE cable problem, unplugged or defective.
Is opening the box the only option? is there any ''check disk'' available for DSR 6000 that can beactivated with the TIVO remote (a combo of key strokes?)
Thanks for your great website and forum. That s really some help compare to what I get at D* for the R-15 piece of junk i got from them, that had to be replace after a couple month because of HD failure or poor software design, but this is another story.
Thanks.
Looking forward reading you.
