Hi all. I'm new to tivo and not very computer literate so please bear with me.

I have a tivo model tcd140060 with a seagate 500gb hard drive and a lifetime service. The hd is only about 5 months old. I paid the gentleman who iI purchased the tivo from to install it for me since he knew about that stuff. I came home from work a couple days ago and found my unit stating that a "serious error" had occurred, and let it repair itself, wait three hours, etc . I let it run its course and it seemed to be working fine. And then yesterday I came home and The tivo was completely off. I turned it on and got the "preparing" screen and thats where it stopped. i unplugged it for the night, and when i plugged it in the fan came on, the left LED's (green and yellow) came on solid. The right side LED's (yellow and red) came on solid, but nothing else, no picture, no "preparing", no "error" nothing. can someone please help. thanks in advance for al the info. (remember, im not computer sauvy)
