  • sat. and tivo

Sorry if this has been asked. I looked first but couldn't find a discussion. I love my direct tv sat. connection and TIVO. In one room I have the hr 10-250 to receive HD and TIVO. I am ready to add another HDTV in the other room. Is there any way to use a standalone TIVO dvr with my Direct TV sat receiver for this tv? Do I have to remain with another 10-250? I understand that the 10-250 is not capable of receiving all HD content now?
I love direct tv and I love tivo but, I'm worried that I will have to go to a non-tivo dvr in order to keep my sat. tv? Is there any hope to keep both? thanks.

There's no way to use a separate DVR with HD at this point, and we don't expect one to come. All HD DVRs are integrated with the programming source, whether for satellite or cable.

So you can get an HR10-250 (we still have some) and get the same channels you get in the other room, or you can get the newer, non-TiVo HD DVR here:

Or you can switch to cable and get a true TiVo with HD:
