I have a series 2 Dt tivo connected to cable.....can I add a second unit (? what type to buy) that would be on floor above present unit and would I be able to view programs stored on present unit? ? I am a neebie so forgive what must be a very basic ?.......Thanks

Yes - any Series2 or Series3 unit would record from cable also and network back to this unit so that you could transfer shows.

Thanks for the reply - when you mention 'network back' do the units have to be on my home computer network or just controlled by the remote? where can I get info on setup?? again, thanks very much for the quick responseComment

You need a network (wired ethernet or WiFi) but you don't need any computers in the mix.Been here a long time . . .Comment
