  • freezing and stopping

My Directv Tivo (Phillips DSR704) recently started stopping and pixilating on channels above 100. Then the whole thing stopped working. I'm assuming this means my Tivo is toast. Id there anything I can do to salvage it?

That's likely tuner issues. Do previously recorded shows playback OK?

no prob with previous shows but the item is resolved with a reset but I had to do that twice now. I have a feeling the drive is toast. just recently the whole thing stopped working and I bought another DSR704. Will there be anything salvagible on the old unit?

        I don't really understand what you're asking.

I'm having a similar problem and I'm looking for troubleshooting tips. Some channels are worse than others. I notice the problem more with saved shows, but that might just be because that is what I watch.

I already tried swapping cables from the satellite, and actually replaced one that was not giving a good signal. Replaced/upgraded the disk a few months ago and for a while thought the problem was solved.

          Any thoughts or pointers?

            jullmann-

Do previously recorded shows playback OK? Or, if they have problems, are the problems identical each time if you replay a bad segment?
