swapping upgrade drives

A few months ago I upgraded my Phillips DSR 704 with an additional drive. Today my entire Tivo is toast (won't even turn on). I bought another DSR704 off ebay. Can I put the expansion drive from the toasted Tivo in the new one??

You'd have to move the two drives together, then do a "clear and delete everything" in the new unit.

Both drives? not just the expansion?? I'm afraid that my main drive may have been the reason for my toasted Tivo.

Right - the drives are "married" together and have to be used together unless they're reformatted.
