Stuck at Almost there message

I have a series 2 Tivo 80 hour that gets stuck at Almost there message.

I took the drive out and ran SpinRite to check it and it found no errors but it still gets stuck at the same point.

How do i determine it is the drive vs. cable or motherbaord?

That message can often be a motherboard, but you should try a replacement drive first. We have replacements here:
