just got the series 3 tivo from weakknees
def. has that HD wow factor
BUT, i encounter ONLY ON THE HIGH DEF CHANNELS these kinda "ghost shadows" at times, in the background. they're usually in the shape of horiz. lines that go the whole length of the screen. sometimes they're very faint; other times they're very prominent
the int'ing thing is, i didn't have this prob. w/the time-warner HD DVR (while i was waiting for tivo/weaknees to come out w/their HD unit)
i have tried HDMI, w/slightly better results than component cable, but still prob. not fixed. i have tried separating cables so nothing is touching anything else. i have unplugged, as an experiment, my stereo receiver and cd player and VCR which are very nearby, to no avail. lastly, i plugged the tivo into a powerstrip instead of the standard wall outlet i'd had it in - - that made the lines worse!
anybody have any suggestions for what to try next? anybody ever have this problem? again, only happens w/the high def channels, which o/w look great
also, i have a splitter sending cable into tivo and vcr at same time, but this isn't the prob, cuz when i sent the cable directly into the tivo, as an experiment, no change
there are still a lot of wires back there i guess, but i tried to separate the tivo wires and cables from the others so nothing was touching.
might the magnets even in an unplugged, say, receiver, be screwing me up?
thanks for any advice
