We gave our son our old Sony SVR2000 when we upgraded. It's probably about 7 or 8 years old and has the original hard drive. It sounds like the hard drive is failing. I've been expecting it to fail for a long time.
He describes the problem like this:
"The TIVO has been acting up a little more often than usual. It seems to just freeze up, or it doesn't let you watch live TV all of a sudden when switching from something that has been recorded to live TV. Sometimes reseting it works, sometimes I have had to let the TIVO set all night long with no power and then plug it back it, then it works."
He also says the picture is getting worse, but I think that probelms with his cables.
Does that sound like a failing drive to any of you?
