Using TIVo without service (Phillips)

I just got a Phillips PTV300 (HDR31203).
I want use it solely to record stuff from my camera and vcr's in TV studio I run in our high school. i don't need the service.
Can this be done?

Yes - that unit should work for manual recording without the TiVo service.

Been here a long time . . .
