Updating Software on a Directv w/TIVO

I have a Philips DSR7000 with a 300GB HD and software version 4.1. I want to upgrade to 6.2. Will the instantcake cd do that for me??

We really don't support or have knowledge of that product, but it sounds like you have a hacked unit, and you need to get back to the correct software for an update to take place.

It was software version 4.0. How do i get the correct software for that unit??

You could buy a replacement drive from us for it:

Otherwise, you'd need to find someone with the same model.
