We have two RS TX60 units. When we put a DVD in one of the units a month ago, the unit froze up and keeps rebooting...going from the welcome screen to the "your almost there" screen over and over. Now the exact same thing happened to the other unit...put a dvd in and it froze and started rebooting over and over. Any ideas?

Each unit essentially freezes up into an infinity of welcome screens/we're almost there screens and the DVD eject button ceases to function, so they are holding different DVDs captive. Units were bought about a year apart. Just seems unlucky that both would develop the same problem within a month of each other. Before putting a DVD in, both units worked perfectly.

There were not any unusual surges or storms around the time either one did this. Today my husband decided to take it apart and was able to eject the DVD by the eject button on the actual unit. Once he did that, the tivo powered up and is working as normal. So I guess we were just very unlucky that both DVD players went bad within a month of each other (unless you know of some other reason). We just banned the kids from using those DVD players until we replace the units, but we didn't lose anything that was already recorded and otherwise it is back to normal. Thanks for trying to help.
