Remote sends double keypress??

My std Tivo remote (or the Tivo) has a tendency to act as if 2 keys are pressed sequencially (double keypress) when only one is pressed. Happens about 50% of the time. What a pain. I have rebootefd the Tivo and also removed the batts in the remote and rebooted it also. Any ideas??

You should try removing all remotes from your room other than the TiVo remote. You might also try moving the TiVo to another TV/room and try it there. Sounds like interference.

I'm having the same problem and have tried the same solutions. If I'm not using the other remotes at the time, how can they be interfering? Also, this would not be a long-term solution since my TiVo remote cannot control all the other devices I must control. Any other suggestions?

If another remote in the room has a button stuck, for example, it can cause this. So can other forms of interference...that's why we suggest you try the TiVo in another room. Once you know whether that solves the problem, then you can try hunting down the cause, knowing that the problem is NOT the TiVo.
