series 1 and Motorola converter won't work

Hi. =tried hooking up a series 1 tivo -with a lifetime subscription -to the motorola digital converter DC700 used by my cable company...when checking with the Tivo Message and Setup system..it shows that no signal is coming from the cable box to the Tivo unit...any ideas..the unit works because I get a signal to the tv without the Tivo.........thanks...........

You might try going through setup again to confirm that you set the TiVo up properly. You have to tell the TiVo what input method you are using with your cable box.
