I already own three tivos and i am thinking about getting a fourth for transfer purposes.. If i get another Tivo and not pay a bill on it.. would i be able to use it to transfer recordings.. I only need it for transfering recordings and watching downstairs for my treadmill.. I don't want to pay another 7 dollars a month for the luxury.. I pay them enough as it is.. Is this possible..??

Unfortunately no. With very few exceptions, a TiVo without a subscription is like a car without an engine.

I thought it was allowed but i am reading on your FAQ that multi-room viewing isn't available with the basic service..

Correct. You need the service for any meaningful functionality beyond manual recordings.
