Effect broadcast signal change has on Tivo choice?

Hi -

I'm trying to decide which Tivo unit to buy for my hubby for a gift. We have basic cable without needing a cable box. What effect will the requirement in 2009 of having all television signals be digital have on the choice of Tivo unit? Will this mean the Series 2 units will not be able to record?

Also, will we have to have a cable box in order to use Tivo now?

The 2009 change only affects antenna signals in analog format. It won't affect you. You should consider these units with DVD:
