Okay im a newbie, so forgive my postings.

So i called up Directv for a new service and they said they'll hook me up with a free Directv DVR.

My question is can you transfer those recorded shows on your DVR you saved, to your computer so i can burn them?

If you can't what type of DVR do you recommend where i can transfer digital quality to my computer and then burn it onto a DVD? Something easy to use where a newbie like me can pick up.
