Directtv tivo issues

Hi,

Brand new to the forums. I think I may have bad hard drive in my hughes sd dvr80 unit. The screen freezes randomly along with random reboots. I have had the unit for about 2 or 3 years. I searched your website and I think I may purchase a hard drive for 139.

Questions before I buy.

Is my hard drive really going bad?
Is the installation difficult?
Can I just buy a hard drive and install the tivo software myself?

Those problems do sound like hard drive issues. Most likely, a replace kit will do the trick.

Installation is pretty easy. We provide the tools and instructions.

Installing the TiVo OS yourself is possible, but harder, and may not be successful with the condition of your current drive. Info is here:

Is there anyway to save my programs (keep until I delete) and season pass options?

There really is no easy way. We can try to save your data, but if your drive is bad, the chances aren't great and you won't get a full refund if we are unable to do it.

Well it seems to be working well now. I unplugged it for about 30 minutes or so. I still would like to back up my hard drive though.
