    Save to DVD only works for short saves

    I just got my Humax DRT400 from weaknees a couple of weeks ago. I have made several DVDs successfully of short shows (<50% of the DVD used). I've tried to make 2 longer DVDs (80-90% of the DVD used) and they all failed about 3/4 of the way through with the message "an internal error has occurred".

    Any clues?

    Are you using high quality DVDs? Are you trying to burn the same shows, or different ones?

      Thanks for the response.

      What's "high quality" mean? They are TDK brand 16x printable DVD-Rs if that's what you mean. I've successfully burned these DVDs on other machines. Each DVD was a different set of programs. Does the particular program matter when burning a DVD? I'd think it was all just data.

        Those are definitely high-quality. Some generic ones don't work very well.

        Sometimes certain programs have problems due to corruption on the hard drive side, so if the same program causes problems, the problems may be hard drive problems at root.

          I purchased this on 10/10. I would hope it doesn't have a corrupt hard drive.

            It's always possible. Is it a 40 GB unit or larger? If it's a 40 GB unit, the warranty is from Humax, and they're at 866 486-2987. If it's larger, call us at 888 932-5633.
