After a power failure, my TiVo got stuck on the “Welcome! Powering up” screen. I ordered and had the replacement drive shipped overnight, only to find that the replacement drive seems to have a problem as well. The original drive would hang for a long tome on the powering up screen and then go black screen, reboot and hang again. The new replacement drive seems to just hang on the powering up screen. Fortunately, I have another defective TiVo that I could test both drives and both present the same problem as experienced which points back to defective drives (I think). Is it possible to have received a bad replacement drive? I really need to get the TiVo back online by Monday. What do you suggest? Help!!!!

That would be pretty rare (bad replacement drive with the same problems as the original). Most likely, you've got a drive for a different model TiVo, or you have an add kit when you needed a replace kit. More info about that is on our add/replace page.
Do you want to email us with your order number and exact model number?Been here a long time . . .

Email has been sent...thanks. the only thing is that the problem is slightly different with the 2 drives and follows the drives with the 2 boxes. If it was exactly the same, I would agree very rare. I'm pretty sure I ordered replacement vs add...but maybe not.
