  • Losing lower channels on DVR R10

I don't know if this would have to do with the hard drive I got from weaknees or not....I have my doubts, but hopefully if I am in the wrong forum one of you kind folks will redirect me.
I purchased a new hard drive from weaknees, installed it in an old Direct TV R10 unit, and it works great. Strange thing is, when I turned it on today, it had lost all channels below 100, the local channels.
I have two Direct TV/Tivo units, and the other one is working flawlessly. That is why I doubt the problem is with the antenna or connections. I am not very knowledgable electronics wise to even know how something like this could occur.
Suggestions, anyone? They are greatly appreciated!
    Thanks.

That's normal. You need to either give it more time for DirecTV to re-send your local channels to your R-10 or call them and tell them you lost your local channels and you need them to send a new signal to your receiver. I also found that you can have them re-send the signal via their automated system.

I concur - DTV just needs to re-authorize the unit, which has likely happened by now automatically.

Glad to hear it - for some reason DTV seems to store local channel auths on the drive instead of the card, and it can take from a minute to several hours to get locals back.
