  • Missing Stations on TivoHD

So, after a week or so of Dexter & Brotherhood not tivoing on ShowtimeHD (877) here in Boston on my new TivoHD - I finally figured out that I am not receiving ShowHD, StarzHD or CinMaxHD on my new TivoHD. I am subscribed to them with Comcast and signal shows at 100% strength.

I have not had the time to check my ability to receive and tivo all other channels, but I can tivo 2 channels at the same time (ex. HBOHD and CBSHD).

I am not sure if this is a hardware issue (more likely not) or a Comcast or CC issue.

I just went into System/Diagnostics and Tuner 0 is showing an association with CC 1 and that CC 1 is an M-Card. Tuner 1 is shown as an association with CC1 also with CC 1 being an M-Card. CC 2 is shown as an S-Card operating normally.

Is this correct? And if it is not, why would only Starz, Cinemax & Showtime HD channels be affected??

When Comcast installer came he installed 2 CC cards. I asked him if they were both M cards and he said yes. I then told him that he only needed one M card with the TivoHD. He indicated that he had just done another TivoHD CC install and that 2 M cards were necessary since the Boston Comcast system was not yet set up for full M card capability/use.

Should I try a system reset?

    Any suggestions/thoughts will be appreciated.

This really sounds like an issue with Comcast's authorization of your cards. Have they tried to re-enable the stations?

In some situations, I'd wonder if these are SDV problems, but that's unlikely if they don't even support two streams on an M card yet.

Of course, Comcast says their computer is down. Call back in an hour.

I think that the problem is relating to the fact that Comcast insists that I need two CC's for a TivoHD. And I think that on the original install the tech installed a M card for CC1 and a S card for CC2.

Waiting for Comcast computers to come back up.

        Comcast computers are back up.

Re-authorization of CC's fixed the issues.

        At least for now.

        Thanks.
