Tivo & DirecTV Question

I am moving soon and am planning on subscribing to DirecTV.

DirecTV customer support told me that their DVR is TIVO now...

Question #1 Is that true?

Question #2 If not, and I definately want TIVO vs. DVR
can I just order DTV and then goto to TIVO.COM and order TIVO

Years ago I had TIVO/DTV. Since then I have had DVR's from DISH, TIME WARNER, and COX. Tivo is superior to them all.

So when I move into this new place I definately want TIVO.

1. Not exactly. DIRECTV doesn't ship DIRECTV DVRs with TiVo anymore, but we do. And we are DIRECTV authorized dealers and can get you set up with installation, etc. All at great prices ($1 for the first TiVo for new subscribers).

You are probably going to want a DIRECTV TiVo, rather than a TiVo without DIRECTV built-in, which is what you'd get at tivo.com.
