    Going from analog to digital with a Series 1

    I have a Series 1 TiVO and since analog is going to digital soon, will there be a way to use my analog TiVO with a digital signal?

    I can't recall if there is a converter box that goes from digital to analog. Is there? Is there any other option? If there is one, does anyone know about what the converter box costs?

    Your TiVo will control most digital cable boxes, if that's what you're asking.

      Will I be able to record shows coming through my cable service since the signal will be digital? I would think not since the tuner in my TiVO is analog.

        The digital cable box actually converts the signal to analog. The TiVo (and your TV, if it's not HD) can only read analog signals. So the digital leg is just from the cable company to your box. From there, it's analog (again, if it's not HD).
