New noisy THD

This week I purchased and installed my new WeaKnees HD TiVo 1350/144 Hours (Value). After about 24 hours, it got quite noisy. At first I thought I could hear my washing machine spin cycle processing an imbalanced load. When I paused what I was watching, I realized it was my new TiVo.

It sounds sort of like Morse code. Hits to the hard drive? It was still going at it when I went to sleep (earplugs required), and this morning when I woke up. Now it is quiet again.

Any idea what's up?

Now having HD viewing probs

I've recorded several shows today. SD is fine, but HD is not.

Audio and video are not in sync. Sound gets ahead of video. Once in a while video freezes, and then catches up.

Same appears to be true for live and recorded HD.

I've had the box since Wednesday, but didn't get the cable card installation completed until this morning. Seems like a bad hard drive to me. What do I do?
