New hard drive on its way - what happens to existing recordings?

Hi weaKnees,

My new hard drive is coming from you today but the husband wants to know what happens to our beloved recordings? Are they on the motherboard of the machine or on the broken hard drive? What equipment would I need to connect the Series 2 140060 Tivo to a PC to pull the programs from the Tivo?

What's the reason you're replacing the old drive? The shows are stored there, and depending on its condition, you may or may not be able to transfer the shows off. Your Series 2 can be connected to your home network using a USB to ethernet or USB to wireless adapter. Then you'd use TiVo Desktop and TiVo2Go to transfer shows onto your computer.

That's all there is to it!
