    Can anyone help? I have a Samsung 4080 Directv Tivo and the channel guide does not appear at all. When I press the guide button on either the remote or a spare remote, it functions as a "go back" button. I unplugged the receiver once and the guide returned for a day then disappeared. Now, no amount of unplugging will restore the guide. Everything else works - season pass, suggestions, etc. Is there a way to fix this?

    I wonder if your remote control got scrambled. If you're willing to set it up again to work with your television, you can perform a factory reset on the remote:

    1. Hold down both the Directv button and the Pause button at the same time
    2. When the light on the top turns press "0"

    Your remote will now need to be reprogrammed for your specific TV.
    That's all there is to it!

      Thanks Jason - I have 2 remotes and the same problem exists when using either remote - would both remotes be scrambled, or do you think it would be some other problem? In any case, I can try the reset tonight.

        I should have read more carefully. Unlikely that two remotes would have the same problem.

        If you have no way of getting the guide at all, there could either be some corruption in the software or a bizarre IR board problem, perhaps. What happens if you press Live TV twice?

        One free thing to try could be repeating Guided Set-up but this is a weird one...not really sure.

        But please let me know what happens.
