Hi!
I just had a Samsung series 2 Tivo that died (not a hard drive this time). I tried moving its 160G HD to a Hughes series 2 TiVo that died a few years ago (hard drive failure). The Hughes unit seems to work fine with the HD from the Samsung except that when I try to access the stored programming I get a message something like: "There is a serious hardware failure. Reboot the system. If that doesn't fix the problem, call DirecTV". Rebooting doesn't help. DirecTV says that you can't use a HD from a Samsung TiVo in a Hughes TiVo. Is there any way to get my programming back?
