  • TiVo HD unresponsive, had to reboot

    Yesterday when I got home from work my new TiVo HD was unresponsive via the remote. The indicator light did not light when I pressed a remote button nor was there any video or sound. The TiVo hard drive was spinning though.

    Finally I unplugged the power cable and plugged it back in. After rebooting, everything seemed normal again but the shows for that day were not recorded. What could have happened?

    Need I worry? Does this kind of thing happen occasionally? I'm new to TiVo and just don't know if this is sort of normal or if it's something I should worry about.

    Sounds like your TiVo locked up (due to a hardware or software error) so the fact that the shows for that period didn't record is no surprise. It can happen on occasion, so best thing to do it keep an eye on it and if it becomes a real nuisance, you might want to discuss it with either TiVo or a member of the weaKnees support staff. If the unit was purchased from weaKnees, you'd certainly want to contact us first for advice or possible warranty service.
