Transferring Recordings

I had to replace my Bolt 500 and want to move the recordings from my old unit to my new one. Can anyone tell me where to find instructions for this that are simple, easy-to-follow and likely to result in success for someone whose technical skills are pretty much limited to using the on-off button? What I've seen (and heard) from TiVo is far from this.
P.S. I use a Mac.

Will the above link work if there is a WD digital AV expander attached to the TIVO?
