Tivo leaving older machines behind?

I read about Tivo not activating older machines anymore and I see I can't transfer Season Passes from a S3 to an HD online anymore. Does anyone know what's going on here? I used to love remote scheduling programs, etc.

Right - the Season Pass Manager has been removed, and the ability to activate any unit older than a Series4 has been cut.

Been here a long time . . .

wow. That's a shame and it's disconcerting. The S3 and HD still have most of the features the new ones have. I have 2 and they are great. I wonder when they'll disown S4 owners. And I'm sorry if they left you with a warehouse of useless machines.
