THR22 Promotional Zone?

I noticed in one of the threads a mention of a "promotional zone" (Philadelphia) for the THR22 (posted by johnabrown). What is this promotional zone? Will the THR22 work in my area of NY? I hope so, because I should be getting my THR22 next Tuesday. Can someone explain more about this promotional zone?

I have never heard of a 'promotional zone,' but you should have no problem activating the THR22 when it arrives.
