We currently own a Humax DRT400 and the burner has never worked as well as I would like (lots of failures). It was purchased new from Tivo. Now we want to upgrade to a bigger hard drive and it seems like a good time to get a better burner as well.

We are considering a refurbished DRT400 with a 300 Gb HD and an extended warranty. We currently are one year into a three year service contract with Tivo. My question is: If we purchase the Humax can we get the rebate even though we aren't getting New service (as it states on the rebate form). The unit with the rebate is a pretty good deal but we want to make sure we qualify.
