Connecting TiVo series 1 or 2 with Time warner digital cable.

Question 1- we have a very early model of TIVO and recently was upgraded to TW digital. We have never had the converter box from TW until now. Can we still use TIVO? If so, how to connect?
Question 2- I broke my original TIVO remote, and ordered one on line. It says Direct Tv on it, not TIVO. If I can do question 1, how can I program the new remote?

Yes, you can use a Series1 or Series2 TiVo with a TW cable box. Just re-run Guided Setup to get it all linked up correctly. You'll likely need an IR Blaster. If you don't have one, you can find them here:

Some DIRECTV TiVo remotes will work for you; some won't.
