I have a Tivo series 1. A few years ago I had to replace the modem and of course bought one here. Last night while watching tv it suddenly went out like it would if a pole got hit and you lost cable service. I realized it was only my tv this was happening to and turned the modem on and off. I got a message saying I had to set a dial in number for tivo. So whatever blasted my tv wipe those setting out. Today I tried to dial in to get the list of numbers but it keeps coming up failed to connect. The phone line is fine. Does this mean I need another new modem?

The phone settings have never been messed with. I tried to set a dial in number for it, but it still won't connect. The only lights on the external modem are the power light and the one next to it. I think it says rd They did not flash when it was trying to dial

I'm sorry to be such a bother with this, but its doing the call interrupted thing again. The test call goes through fine. When I even try to change the dial in number it fails. It is set to ,#396 Could the replacement modem fail? I only have a few days left of the guide because I was trying everything I could.
