I just received an upgrade from Weakness to replace my primary hard drive. I replaced the hard drive and everything came up fine, I got satellite signals and video on each channel. I can not record until I first make a test phone call to download a local telephone number to activate recording. I made the connections numerous times and kept getting a message stating that there were no local numbers for any of the area codes that I had entered. I tried the same function on both of my other DVRs and each failed the same way and each time stated that there no local numbers available. DirecTV customer service has been no help, they just tell me that they are sending an e-mail to Tivo and to wait 72 hours, I waited and was told the same thing again from DirecTV customer service.
Since you deal with many more Tivo DVRs than DirecTV, do you know any work around for this problem?
