We have a Series 2 Tivo (pre-2004) with a lifetime warranty which was given as a gift to us. We recently turned in our digital cable box that was attached to it, and tried to hook up our Tivo again with just the cable wire (no box).
We were having trouble with live tv displaying so we figured we'd try the guided setup again (big mistake) and now we're stuck at the phone connection which says "phone is busy". We can't get past this part, so we tried hooking our Tivo up to at my mother-in-law's house just to see if our actual phone line was the problem (we have DSL with a filter on the line) and we still get the "phone is busy" error and can't continue on.
Any ideas or do you think we fried the phone connection on our Tivo box somehow and we're s.o.l.?
