Phone Line Connection in Setup

Ran Instant Cake just fine on a new HD for Series 2 TiVo. Then did a restart and remove everything, but could not get past the step where it needs a phone line (we have not had one for 2 yrs).
Is there a work around for this analog phone line step in the setup?

Any recent software version for non-DIRECTV TiVos will allows networking from setup.

The TiVo software. If your software is recent (eg. if you purchase a drive with the latest software), you can connect by network. I have no idea what software you are running....I'm sorry.
