  • Conflict with Cisco and Humax?

I have a Humax Tivo Series 2 that is connected to Comcast. Up until January the system worked fine with a six-year-old Scientific Atlanta analog box. When that box went out I took it back Comcast and had it exchanged for a Cisco RNG-1000 digital box. In resetting the Tivo I used the Scientific Atlanta code since no Cisco code was there -- no problems then. However I now occasionally find the cable box has turned itself off. This never occurred with the analog box. Last night this happened while I was watching another recorded program. I tried to see if using the Series 2 remote caused this. I got some dimming in the Cisco "power-on" LED when I pushed some buttons, but it did not turn off. There is no set interval that this occurs -- it seems to be pretty random. I have three questions: Is there a IR conflict between the Cisco RNG-1000 and the Humax Series 2? Is there an alternate code at setup that can be used for the Cisco RNG-1000? Is there any way to set up the remote (Comcast Custom DVR 3) to operate the Humax? Thanks in advance for your help.

It may be that your cable box is set to turn off (sleep) after a certain period of non-use. You might want to check with your cable provider and/or look in your manual to see if you can change that setting.

Analyzing the entire situation I think there exist some kind of error due to code setup.Because since you have changed the connection accordingly you'll also need to change the code.
