I have a philips series 1 that recently stopped making the daily test call through vonage after working fine for several years. I purchased the weakness external modem and still I get the error message Service not answering when I make a test call.
I have worked through the troubleshooting options on your site -- vonage bandwidth saver is set to 90Kbps, dial Tone Detection and Phone Available Detection are both turned off, call waiting prefix is *99" and I have tried a couple of other NYC dial in numbers. Also tried both ,#319 and ,#396 dialing prefixes. When I listen in, I can hear the modem dialing out and attempting to negotiate.
Any ideas on what the problem could be or next steps to resolve?
